Our fund raising efforts for 2008 are getting
off to a good start. The following
events are scheduled for this spring and summer. Hope you can
stop by one or
more of them. We'd also appreciate your help in spreading the
word. Please

23rd, Eugene, in the Wheeler
Room, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (We will be doing a presentation about
Thembanathi and
the Aids Pandemic in the KwaZulu Natal region in South
Africa.)
Friday,
May 9, World AIDS Orphans Day
event, First Unitarian Church of
Portland, SW 12th and Main, in Fuller Hall, 6:00 to 9:30 pm.
(Stephen Lewis,
the United Nations Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa from 2001 to
2006,
former Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF and Canadian Ambassador to
the UN
will be speaking at 7:00 pm)

May 15, Girl's Night Out, Aesthetic Surgical
Arts & Skin Enhancement
Center, 2550 Willakenzie Road, Eugene, 5:00 to 9:00 pm (Note - this is
a benefit
for the Relief Nursery.)

June 14, Day of the African Child Event,
World Forestry Center in
Washington Park, 4033 SW Canyon Rd, Portland, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

and Saturday July 18 and 19, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday, July 20,
10:00
am to 5:00 pm, Salem Art Fair and Festival,
Bush's Pasture Park, Salem.
(Salem Art Fair is the largest juried art festival of its kind in the
state of
Oregon and my favorite art festival.) (I need volunteers to
help me staff this
event. Please get in touch if you'd be willing to help.)
